Kitchen & Bath Sales Consultant

Job description:

Red River Lumber has served the Ark-La-Tex since 1992, and today we've grown to a nine-brand, twelve-location family of building materials, hardware, and home design companies - recognized as a 2026 LBM Journal Dealer of the Year and certified by the Tugboat Institute as an Evergreen company built to last for generations.

The Design Center at Red River Lumber is where our customers' projects come to life: a showroom experience where homeowners, builders, and remodelers select the kitchens, baths, doors, and windows that turn a house into their home.

We're a family business where you'll know your customers by name, see your projects through from first sketch to final install, and build a career

THE ROLE

You'll be the face of our kitchen and bath business - guiding homeowners and remodelers from "we're thinking about redoing the kitchen" all the way to a signed, spec'd, ready-to-order project. This role blends design consultation, product expertise, and sales. If you love helping people make confident decisions about the biggest rooms in their home, this is your seat.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Welcome showroom customers, ask great questions, and guide them through cabinetry, countertops, hardware, fixtures, and finishes

Create kitchen and bath designs and renderings using design software (2020 Design, ProKitchen, or similar - we'll train the right person)

Measure spaces on jobsites; produce accurate layouts and takeoffs

Build detailed quotes, manage revisions, and close projects at healthy margins

Coordinate orders with vendors, track lead times, and keep customers informed from order to delivery

Partner with local builders, remodelers, and contractors to become their go-to kitchen and bath resource

Follow up on leads from our website, social media, and in-store traffic

Keep the kitchen and bath displays fresh, current, and merchandised to sell

Participate in marketing campaigns for The Design Center - for example, appearing in social media video content, product spotlights, and how-to features

Represent The Design Center at home shows and community events as needed

WHAT YOU BRING

Required

2+ years of sales experience in kitchen and bath, cabinetry, building materials, interior design, or a related field (or a design degree with strong customer-facing instincts)

Comfort reading floor plans and taking accurate field measurements

Strong follow-through - you keep promises, return calls, and never let a quote go stale

Warm, patient, low-pressure communication style; you help customers decide, you don't push them

Proficiency with basic computer tools (email, quoting/POS systems, spreadsheets)

NICE TO HAVE

Experience with 2020 Design, ProKitchen, Chief Architect, or similar design software

Existing relationships with area builders and remodelers

Knowledge of cabinet lines, countertop fabrication, and plumbing fixtures
NKBA affiliation or coursework
